Latar Belakang
Galeri Nasional Indonesia (GNI) merupakan lembaga kebudayaan yang acapkali memamerkan karya-karya seni rupa kekinian (modern and contemporary art), baik dari perupa lokal maupun mancanegara. Di samping itu, GNI juga memiliki tugas untuk melaksanakan pelayanan edukasi di bidang karya seni rupa. Implementasi dari tugas tersebut diwujudkan dalam bentuk kegiatan yang bersifat edukatif-kultural, sebagai upaya untuk mengembangkan kemampuan dan keterampilan. Dengan kata lain, mewadahi potensi pengunjung (masyarakat luas) dalam meningkatkan kreativitas, dan apresiasi seni agar menjadi manusia yang kreatif, mandiri, serta memiliki karakter bangsa.
